My four works at this exhibition focus on the way I introduce and expand my story. Big flood in 2020 destroyed my frames stored at my studio yet brought me a big change. Good old wood frame is now glowing with metal finish. This is when I started to develop frames physically with my two own hands creating [Junkrete Frame]. Each frame has its own character and find its connection to the image inside it. Going through extreme weather and Covid-19, I capture unusual nature inside [Junkrete Frame] creating stopped natural phenomena.
이번 전시에서 전시될 4 개의 작품은 나의 경험을 풀어내는 방식, 이야기 전개와 확장에 관점을 두고 있 다. 2020년 작업실에 홍수가 나서 지금까지 만들었던 액자를 버리는 경험은 나의 작업에 큰 변화를 불러 왔다. 나무 액자로 마감하던 나의 작업은 금속으로 직접 제작하는 방식으로 변했다. 이때부터 정크리트 프 레임 액자 전문 업체가 아닌 직접 개발하는 액자 작업이 시작되었다. 액자는 각자의 특성을 갖고 이미지와 연결성을 갖게 된다. 요즘처럼 비 가 많이 오고, 코로나, 무더위 등 다양한 피해를 경험하면서 기상이변에 반하여 정크리트 프레임 속에서 정지된 자연현상을 만들어 내고 있다.
